Let's say it again...
Independence day.
It does have a nice sound, doesn't it?
Everybody is talking about freedom that, freedom this... you name a thing, put the phrase "free to" before it, voilà, instant spirit of independence day. To be consumed without moderation. Free flow, guys... enjoy your freedom.
Bah.
One thing I notice; everyone is doing things in the name of freedom. Freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of whatever-you-put-to-make-an-excuse-to-justify-your-misbehavior. It's like the ultimate excuse, you know... free country, right?
And that is the very moment your freedom is imprisoning you.
That's right. It's the moment you do things because of freedom. Because the freedom says so.
We are not free.
Unless you realize that what you do is purely coming from you. From your heart, soul and your whole being.
Being free from freedom.
Happy Independence Day, nonetheless...

Saya sih masih dijajah... secaraaa kerja di perusahaan Jepang.. benar2 romusha.
Kamu??? kamu kerja di perusahaan bule juga kan? kerja rodi juga.
Yang megang duit dan nyetir perekonomian di Indonesia kalo gak bule, jepang, korea... cina. Orang pribumi cuman jadi kacungnya.
Heran ya, kita masih dijajah tapi bisa2nya bilang udah merdeka...

Eniwei...padahal kemaren gue ngerasa jadi orang paling ga patriotis sedunia. Pas tanggal 16 ada acara balap karung di kantor gue, pas HRD maksa gue buat ikut, yang ada gue pelototin, soalnya gue lagi hectic berantem di telfon ama client.
Tanggal 17-nya gue kudu ke kantor, di jalan gue marah-marah gara2 ada karnaval yang bikin gue gak bisa mampir ke Circle K buat beli rokok.

Good points. Nice posting. Freedom in this country is truly overemphasized. Everyone is still mislead into the ill-defined meaning of freedom, hence being not independent at all.
